The Production Deviation Monitor is your real-time production tracking system. It continuously monitors ALL active production orders and automatically detects when orders are falling behind schedule. Instead of discovering delays when customers call to complain, you'll know about problems the moment they start and get instant suggestions on how to fix them.
Active Orders: Total number of production orders currently in progress or scheduled
On Track: Orders progressing as planned - no action needed
Behind Schedule: Orders with -10% to -20% deviation - attention needed
Critical Delays: Orders with more than -20% deviation - urgent action required
✅ GREEN BORDER - ON TRACK: Order is meeting or exceeding schedule. Deviation is better than -10%. Keep up the good work!
⚠️ YELLOW BORDER - WARNING: Order is falling behind by 10-20%. Not critical yet, but monitor closely and consider corrective actions.
🔴 RED PULSING BORDER - CRITICAL: Order is seriously delayed (more than 20% behind). Immediate action required! The border pulses to grab your attention.
Each deviation card shows a progress bar with TWO indicators:
Example: Started 5 days ago, due in 2 days (7 days total). Days elapsed: 5 (71% of time). But only produced 40% of quantity. Deviation: 40% - 71% = -31% → CRITICAL!
When a deviation is detected, the system automatically analyzes WHY it's happening:
For each delayed order, the system suggests specific actions you can take to get back on schedule:
What it does: Extends working hours from 8 to 10 hours per day
Time saved: Usually 1-2 days depending on delay
Cost: Overtime labor costs (typically 1.5x normal rate)
Feasibility: High (if operators are available)
When to use: Small to moderate delays where cost is acceptable
What it does: Transfers order to a different production line
Time saved: Can save significant time if alternative line is available
Cost: Setup time (typically 2 hours) but no additional labor cost
Feasibility: Medium (requires line availability)
When to use: When current line has issues or is overloaded
What it does: Express material procurement from suppliers
Time saved: Reduces material lead time by 1-2 days
Cost: Express shipping fees (typically $150-300)
Feasibility: High (if supplier supports express)
When to use: Delay is caused by material shortage
What it does: Extends deadline and notifies customer of new date
Time saved: None (accepts the delay)
Cost: No monetary cost, but may impact customer satisfaction
Feasibility: Low (last resort)
When to use: When other options aren't viable and customer can accept delay
Showing "0 Active Orders"?
→ No production orders have status "scheduled" or "in_progress". Create some production orders first.
All orders show "On Track" but you know some are delayed?
→ Make sure production orders have: (1) scheduled_start_date set, (2) scheduled_end_date set, (3) quantity_produced updated regularly
"Failed to load deviation data"?
→ Check that backend API is uploaded to /backend/api/v1/deviation/monitor.php
Deviation percentage seems wrong?
→ Verify dates are correct and quantity_produced is being updated as production progresses
"Error applying action"?
→ Check that apply-action.php is uploaded correctly and production_notes column exists
