🎯 Overview
The Material Consumption system tracks materials used in production in real-time.
It helps you issue materials from inventory, record actual usage, log waste, and maintain accurate inventory levels.
📋 How It Works
Step 1: Select Production Order
Choose an active production order to see its material requirements.
Step 2: Issue Materials
Allocate materials from inventory to the production order before starting work.
Step 3: Record Consumption
During or after production, log how much material was actually used.
Step 4: Log Waste
Record any wasted or defective materials with reasons.
💡 Best Practices
✅ DO:
- Issue materials before starting production
- Record consumption regularly during production
- Always provide reasons for waste
- Verify quantities before saving
- Update records in real-time
❌ DON'T:
- Start production without issuing materials
- Forget to log waste or scrap
- Wait until end of production to record usage
- Issue more than available in stock
- Record consumption without verifying actual usage
🔧 Troubleshooting
Material not showing? Ensure the product has a Bill of Materials (BOM) defined.
Can't issue materials? Check that sufficient stock is available in inventory.
